Every year in January, the D&S and WashCard teams have already been hard at work on their trade show presence for several months. When Q1 begins, both our Missouri and Minnesota teams are booked, busy, and ready to represent!
But, when it comes to operator attendance, it can be hard to justify all it takes to get there. Between travel logistics, time, and cost, you may ask yourself: what’s in it for me?
Luckily, we’re ready to share why you should attend a car wash trade show this year — as well as lay out what shows we’ll be at, in case you’d like to come say hi.
Reason 1: To Best Benefit Your Biz
It can be hard to actually book your travel, but trust us: it’s worth it to see what you need to level up your business live, in person.
Sometimes, seeing truly is believing — as well as understanding! Car wash equipment isn’t always straightforward, especially when upgrading or integrating new technology with old. That’s why you should see the product(s) and services you’re researching in person. When you talk with vendors, you can get a sense of their knowledge level as well as the type of customer service experience you’ll receive if you sign the dotted line. You also can ease the pressure that comes with making a big business purchase sight unseen. Plus, many companies run “show specials” — who knows what kind of great deal you’ll dig up?
Reason 2: Picking the Brains of the Best and Brightest
Each trade show is different, but they have one thing in common: the show exists to help you, the owner/operator, first and foremost. With seminars, learning sessions, keynote speakers, and specialty roundtables, you’ll find extremely pertinent and valuable information that will help you grow and expand in new exciting ways. And it isn’t even always just for car washing! Marketing, human resources, sales, and more are usually topics of conversation.
Reason 3: Conversations and Community
Operators come together at car wash industry trade shows because they’re all searching for unique solutions to their business needs. You’ll get to know other operators, find out what is (or isn’t!) working for them, and be able to discuss relevant previous experiences that may better steer you in the direction of success. Being able to build that type of community is invaluable, and can lead to close ties in an industry where it doesn’t hurt to know your (figurative) neighbors!
